Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puchong is a national secondary school located in Puchong, Selangor.
History[edit | edit source]
SMK Puchong started in 6 January 1975 with the name Sekolah Menengah Rendah Puchong, which only offers lower secondary classes. The school building was not completely built at the time, therefore the school temporarily operated in SJK (T) Ladang Killing Hall, until the school building completed. At the time there were seven classrooms, 242 students and five teachers. The first principal was Sarhadat bin Baharuddin.
Form 4 classes were started at 1978. Literature classes was only available at the time and students who chosen Science classes would be transfer to SMK Petaling.
In 1980, a school building with eight classrooms and three science labs was completed. The school name was changed to SMK Puchong. Science and Commerce classes was started at the same year. Due to the rising number of students, a new school building was built in 1985.
An assembly point was built near Block D which cost RM20,000. Block E was completed in 1998. A surau was built in 2000 which cost RM100,000 which was funded by the government and public. A computer lab was built near Block E in 2001. Block F was built in 2008 for Form Six students.
